BAUHAUS - FURNITURE, DESIGN AND INNENARCHITECTURE What is celebrated all year round? 100 years of Bauhaus! Gropius founded the legendary Hochschule für Kunst und Architektur in Weimar in 1919, where the Bauhaus design was created. This volume shows which predecessors design had and how it developed. It presents tea services by Wagenfeld, ashtrays by Brandt, but also objects from van de Velde to Eiermann. Also represented with objects are Peter Behrens, Hermann Gretsch, Heinrich Löffelhardt, Herbert Hirsche, Charles Eames, Arne Jacobsen, Verner Panton, Alvar Aalto and many others. The three text categories - essays, catalogue section, biographies - differ in their interesting graphic appearance. MYTHOS BAUHAUS! FÜR BAUHAUS-FANS, ARCHITECTICS, DESIGNER, KUNSTHISTORIKER The catalogue presents the Bauhaus idea on the basis of selected "things of everyday life" based on designs by Bauhaus masters and students. They come from many Bauhaus workshops. These prototypes of functional design illustrate the broad spectrum of form-finding. In addition, precursors and successors of the famous Bauhaus objects are shown, here the time span extends into the 21st century, which can be equally interesting for Bauhaus fans, art historians, architects, interior designers and designers. From the Werkbund to the residential icon of the 21st century - all "cult objects" and many that one should still know are represented; and are embedded in a cultural-historical context. The history of Bauhaus design cannot be presented in a more comprehensive and multi-faceted way!
